Application
Fits Willys MB, Ford GPW and Hotchkiss M201. Intended for restorations where the original data plate is missing or damaged. Mid-war type zinc plate was used from mid-1942 onwards.
Installation notes
The plate is traditionally mounted on the glovebox door with copper or brass rivets. For Willys MB, these plates were sometimes also fitted with screws. Have the vehicle data professionally stamped by an engraving service before mounting the plate.
Compatibility
Please note: this is a blank plate without vehicle-specific data. Early-war vehicles often had brass plates, late-war Ford GPW vehicles had aluminium plates. This zinc plate is correct for mid-war period Willys MB production.
Historical context
During WWII, data plates were first etched with standard text, then manually stamped with serial number, delivery date and weight before being riveted to the vehicle. The material varied during the war from brass to zinc and aluminium.
