  • Complete set of three for dashboard
  • Suitable for rivet mounting

★ This set reproduces the earliest data plate version as fitted to Willys MB Slat Grill and the first standard grille MB vehicles from 1942.

Application

Intended for restoration of early Willys MB from the period March-December 1942, including Slat Grill vehicles. The early brass data plates were replaced by zinc or aluminium variants in later production years.

Installation notes

The set is mounted on the dashboard (for Slat Grill vehicles without glove box) or on the glove box door (standard grille MB). Fastening is done with rivets, preferably brass or brass-plated steel rivets according to original specification. The centre plate bears the serial number and date.

Compatibility

Only correct for early Willys MB production (March-December 1942). Not suitable for later production with Ordnance Department marking, nor for Ford GPW. Ford used similar but distinct data plates with different fonts and layout.

Historical context

The earliest Willys MB jeeps were delivered with brass data plates marked as Quartermaster Corps (QMC) supplies. From late 1942 onwards, the transition to Ordnance Department marking and other materials such as zinc and aluminium began. The brass version remains a recognisable feature of the very earliest production vehicles.
