U-type spring shackle with left and right-hand thread

For left front and right rear

Complete spring shackle kit in U-shaped design for mounting leaf springs to the frame. This kit contains one left-hand thread bush and one right-hand thread bush, as originally fitted on military jeeps. The bushes are equipped with grease nipples for maintenance.

Material

Steel

Type

U-shackle with mixed thread

Position

Left front or right rear

Kit contents

U-shackle, 1× left-hand thread bush, 1× right-hand thread bush, rubber seals, grease nipples

Features

  • Complete kit with all necessary parts
  • U-shaped shackle to original specification
  • Mixed thread direction: 1× left, 1× right
  • Fitted with grease nipples for maintenance
  • For left front or right rear spring mounting

★ Each vehicle requires 2 pieces of this article (WO802061) and 2 pieces of the opposite article (WO802062 with double right-hand thread) for a complete set of four spring shackles.

Application

This spring shackle with mixed thread direction is fitted at the left front position and the right rear position. The left-hand thread bush is installed in the leaf spring eye, the right-hand thread bush in the frame bracket. For the right front and left rear positions, use article WO802062 (double right-hand thread).

Installation notes

Pay attention to the correct thread direction during fitting: the left-hand thread bush goes in the spring eye, the right-hand thread bush in the frame bracket. Grease the bushes via the grease nipples after fitting. Check that the U-shackle sits evenly around the axle housing before tightening the nuts.

Compatibility

This is the variant with mixed thread direction (LH+RH) for left front and right rear. DO NOT interchange with WO802062 (double RH) which fits at right front and left rear. If in doubt: remove an old shackle first and visually check which thread direction is present.

Historical context

The U-shaped spring shackle with mixed thread direction was standard on WWII military jeeps and early CJ models. This system with greaseable bushes ensured reliable suspension under harsh field conditions.
