When mounting the transmission to the transfer case, this plate must be correctly positioned in the recess of the transfer case housing.

Mounting

  1. 1. Position reverse idler gear in housing, ensure slot in shaft is correctly aligned for lock plate 2. Install countershaft partially to hold thrust washers in position 3. Align slot in countershaft with slot in reverse idler shaft 4. Place lock plate so that both slots are secured 5. Check that plate fits correctly in recess of transfer case housing before bolting transmission
