Main transmission shaft (mainshaft) for the Warner T84 3-speed gearbox in Willys MB and Ford GPW. The mainshaft carries the second gear, synchroniser assembly and first/reverse gear, and connects via the rear bearing to the transfer case. ★ The mainshaft is the core component of the T84 transmission. Correct assembly with proper end play adjustment (blocking ring clearance) is essential for good synchronisation of 2nd and 3rd gear. The shaft is secured by the castellated nut on the transfer case gear with 80-110 ft-lbs.
