Snap Ring Main Drive Gear Bearing T84 Gearbox
Snap ring for main drive gear bearing — T84 transmission
Snap ring for securing the main drive gear bearing in the T84 gearbox. Critical component for correct positioning and fixation of the input shaft bearing at the front of the transmission.
Application T84 main drive gear bearing | Vehicle Willys MB, Ford GPW, M201 |
Original ref. WO-635846 / T8417-635844 | Position Front of transmission, behind bearing retainer |
Features
- Holds the main drive gear bearing in place against the front of the T84 case Prevents axial movement of the input shaft and main gear assembly Important for correct positioning of blocking rings Works together with front bearing retainer for bearing immobilisation Original thickness approximately 0.089" (2.26 mm) — modern replacements are often thinner Compatible with T84 gearboxes in Willys MB, Ford GPW and M201
★ NOTE: During T84 overhaul, it is strongly recommended to reuse the original, thicker snap ring if possible. Modern replacements are often too thin (0.065" instead of 0.089") and may provide insufficient fixation, which can cause leakage and wear.
