WO639423
Retaining ring mainshaft pilot roller bearing T84 gearbox
Snap ring for pilot bearing assembly - Willys MB, Ford GPW
Retaining ring (snap ring) for securing the pilot roller bearing in the T84 gearbox. This retaining ring keeps the 13 needle bearings in place that form the connection between the mainshaft and the input shaft. Essential component for proper overhaul of the T84 transmission.
Application T84 transmission pilot bearing | Vehicle Willys MB, Ford GPW (1941-1945) |
Position Mainshaft | Type Snap ring retaining ring |
Features
- Snap ring for securing pilot roller bearing in T84 gearbox Retains the 13 needle bearings (pilot bearings) in place between mainshaft and input shaft Original specification for correct shaft alignment Essential for transmission overhaul per TM 9-1803B Prevents axial play of the main drive gear bearing
★ Note: Original retaining rings are thicker (approx. 0.077") than some modern replacements. For proper assembly without play, correct thickness is critical. Thinner snap rings can cause bearing movement, leading to accelerated wear.
