★ This wave washer mounts on top of the shift plate on the pivot pin according to TM 9-1803B specifications. The spring action keeps the shift plate under tension against the cast iron cam profile in the upper transmission housing, preventing rattling and unnecessary wear.

Mounting
- 1. Place gearbox in neutral position 2. Position shift plate on pivot and on the shifter shafts 3. Place spring washer on the pivot pin on top of the shift plate 4. Position new gearshift housing gasket on the housing 5. Install housing with four lock washers and cap screws
