- Featuring correct original markings
- Steel construction to WWII specification
- Suitable for two-piece 16" x 4.5" combat rims

★ Authentic NOS component with original markings. Combat rims require eight bolts per rim to hold the two halves together — use only correct bolts with matching nuts for safe assembly.
Application
For two-piece combat rims (split rims) on Willys MB built after serial number MB120700 and Ford GPW. Combat rims were introduced during production and remained standard until the end of WWII. All GPW models featured combat rims from the start of production.
Installation notes
Always fit with corresponding combat wheel nut (WOA5471). Tighten the eight bolts in a cross pattern with even torque distribution: begin at 10 ft-lbs, increase progressively via 25 and 40 ft-lbs to final value of 65-70 ft-lbs. Use anti-seize compound for long-term protection.
Compatibility
Exclusively for two-piece combat rims (split rims) — NOT for one-piece solid disc rims or civilian wheels. Combat rims are recognisable by the eight bolts holding the two rim halves together. Compatible with 16" x 4.5" combat rims such as A5467.
Historical context
Combat rims were developed in 1941 by Kelsey Hayes Wheel Company and enabled rapid tyre changes under combat conditions. The two-piece construction with eight bolts allowed soldiers to change a tyre simply by deflating the tyre and removing the eight bolts.
