Application

Fits vehicles listed in product categories: Willys MB (1941-1945), Ford GPW (1941-1945), CJ-2A (1946-1949), CJ-3A (1949-1953), CJ-3B (1953-1964), M38 (1950-1952). Note: different models may have specific bellcrank variants (early/late with ball up or down). Check your vehicle before fitting.

Installation notes

The end caps have slots for a wide flat-blade screwdriver. Unscrew the end caps, replace the internal components (ball cup, spring, ring) and screw the caps back on. During assembly: place the ball cup against the ball, then the spring and finally the threaded cap. The spring must be compressed to engage the cap on the thread. Perform a wheel alignment after installation.

Compatibility

This kit is suitable for the drag link running between the pitman arm (at the steering box) and the bellcrank (steering lever at the front). This is NOT for the tie rods between bellcrank and steering knuckle. Check your bellcrank model matches: some early models have a different configuration. If in doubt: consult your vehicle's technical manual.

Historical context

The drag link is a critical component of the steering mechanism on WWII and early civilian Jeeps, connecting the steering box to the front wheels via the bellcrank. Repair kits such as this enabled field maintenance — a practical solution that still proves its worth today.
