Hose Clamp Air Tube/Carburetor Horn

Willys part WO-53384

Metal hose clamp for securing the rubber air hose between the carburetor air horn and the carburettor, or between the crossover tube and the air horn. This component is part of the L-134 engine's air intake system and ensures an airtight connection between the various components.

Features

  • Metal hose clamp to original specifications
  • For securing rubber seal on carburetor air horn
  • Original Willys part number WO-53384
  • Compatible with Carter and Solex carburettors
  • Essential for airtight connection in air intake system

★ Reproduction to original Willys specifications for reliable securing of the air intake system.

Application

Fits jeeps with the 4-134 L-head engine (Willys MB 1941-1945, Ford GPW 1941-1945, CJ-2A 1946-1949, CJ-3A 1949-1953, M38 1950-1952 with downdraft carburettor). Does NOT fit early MB/GPW with the heavy-duty rubber bushing type WO-A1451.

Installation notes

This clamp secures the rubber seal (part A-17318) around the top of the carburettor. During installation: first slide the rubber seal over the carburetor horn, then position the clamp around it and tighten. Check that the connection is airtight before starting the engine.

Compatibility

Please note: does NOT fit early MB/GPW models that use the heavier rubber hose type bushing (WO-A1451). Fits only later models (from a certain serial number onwards) with the standard rubber seal and 90-degree steel air horn. F-head engines (CJ-5 and later) use a different system where the air horn clamps directly onto the carburettor without this seal.

Historical context

The carburetor air horn with rubber seal and hose clamp was used on all 4-134 L-head engines throughout WWII and post-war civilian production until the early 1950s. This system provided the 90-degree bend from the carburettor to the oil bath air cleaner assembly.
