Installation notes

The door is mounted with three screws and a tapping plate (backing plate) which is positioned inside the glove box opening. The lock (A-3835) is mounted separately and holes are pre-drilled. Note: installation can be awkward due to limited access — position the tapping plate first before finally securing the.

Compatibility

Fits both early and late versions of military jeeps from 1941-1945. Later in production (from mid-1942 onwards), different lock types were used: early type 'low lock' and late type 'high lock'. Check which lock type suits your vehicle. Also suitable for Hotchkiss M201 (1952-1966).

Historical context

The glove box was standard equipment on all WWII jeeps, intended for storage of documents and personal items. The lock was introduced from mid-1942 to replace the earlier spring catch construction.
