Generator Support Shoulder Bolt

For 6V and 12V generator mounting

Correct original-style shoulder bolt with machined shoulder for mounting the generator to the lower support bracket. This special bolt ensures proper fit and positioning between generator and mounting bracket. Suitable for both 6V and 12V installations.

Design

With machined shoulder

Application

Generator mounting to lower bracket

Vehicle

Willys MB, Ford GPW, CJ-2A, CJ-3A, CJ-3B

Quantity required

2 pieces per vehicle

Features

  • Special shoulder bolt for correct generator positioning
  • Compatible with both 6V and 12V generators
  • Prevents incorrect mounting with standard bolts
  • Suitable for mounting with rubber bushings (A-1395)
  • Part number A-1397 / WOA1468B

★ Do not use standard hardware shop bolts — this shoulder bolt guarantees correct fit and prevents damage to the rubber mounting bushings.

Application

Fits Willys MB (1941-1945), Ford GPW (1941-1945), CJ-2A (1946-1949), CJ-3A (1949-1953) and CJ-3B (1953-1964) with L-134 or F-134 four-cylinder engine. For mounting the 6V Auto-Lite generator or 12V conversion alternator to the lower support bracket on the engine block.

Installation notes

2 pieces required per vehicle. Install together with rubber bushings (A-1395) for proper vibration damping. The bolt shoulder ensures correct positioning — do not overtighten to avoid damaging the rubber bushings. A ground cable runs from the rear lower generator bolt to the front starter motor mounting.

Compatibility

Exclusively suitable for vehicles with L-134 Go Devil or F-134 Hurricane four-cylinder engine. Does NOT fit vehicles with six-cylinder engine or Dodge/GMC lorries (these have different mounting systems). Works with both original 6V generators and 12V conversion alternators that use the original mounting brackets.

Historical context

The special shoulder design was a military specification to ensure that the generator was correctly positioned in the rubber bushings, which reduced vibrations and increased generator service life. Reproduction to original design.
