★ Reproduction of the original Ford part, correctly marked with the distinctive 'F' script that Ford applied to virtually all GPW components.
Application
Ford GPW 1941-1945, used with Autolite GEG 5002D and GEG 5101D generators. The late 5101D generator with rear sleeve bearing was introduced in early 1944 and remained in use until the end of production. This bracket is slightly longer than the early version to accommodate the longer housing of the sleeve bearing generator.
Installation notes
The bracket mounts to the engine block with two bolts. Ensure that the correct spacers are used between bracket and oil pan to prevent interference. The bolts must not protrude too far beyond the timing cover flange.
Compatibility
NOT compatible with the early GEG 5001A generator (with oilers). The late bracket is specific to the longer GEG 5002D and 5101D types. Ford ceased producing their own generators in early 1944 and switched to Autolite-supplied units. Willys MB used its own brackets without F-marking.
Historical context
Ford marked virtually every part of the GPW with their distinctive 'F' script, even bolts and nuts. This was a condition from Ford to produce the Willys design under licence, so that their contribution to the war effort remained recognisable.
