Application
Suitable for Willys MB (1941-1945), Ford GPW (1942-1945) and Hotchkiss M201. The hood blocks provide correct support when the bonnet is open against the windscreen. 2 pieces required per vehicle.
Installation notes
Mount using the pre-drilled holes on the inside of the bonnet. Check correct positioning left and right. Finish with paint in body colour before final fitting. Use welting material between block and bonnet if available to prevent wear.
Compatibility
Note: different production periods had different versions. Early jeeps (until early 1942) used rubber blocks. From 1943 onwards wooden blocks became standard, with late production (1943-1945) often having versions with fabric insert. Check your original version for correct restoration.
Historical context
Hood blocks were an essential part of the WWII jeep construction. They were introduced when it became apparent that rubber blocks wore out too quickly under harsh field conditions, after which wooden blocks became standard from 1943 onwards.
