KIT STUDS+NUTS+WASHERS IN/EX ENGINE MANIFOLD
Complete manifold mounting kit (studs, nuts, washers)
For inlet and exhaust manifold to engine block
Complete mounting kit for fitting inlet and exhaust manifolds to the engine block. This set contains all required studs in various lengths, nuts and special dished washers for correct and durable installation.
|
Material Steel studs, brass nuts, steel washers |
Kit contents 7 studs (2 long, 2 medium, 3 short), 7 nuts, washers |
|
Application Mounting manifolds to engine block |
Specification Including dished bridge washers for split line |
Features
- Complete set with all necessary components
- Studs in 3 different lengths for correct fitment
- Brass nuts instead of steel - prevent seizing due to heat
- Dished bridge washers for optimum sealing at split line between inlet and exhaust
- Suitable for restoration and engine maintenance
★ The brass nuts are more heat-resistant than the original steel version and prevent nuts from seizing onto the studs due to high engine temperatures.
Installation notes
The dished washers are fitted at positions where inlet and exhaust manifolds meet at the engine block. Convex side towards manifold. Tighten nuts evenly in diagonal sequence to a torque of 31-35 ft-lb (42-47 Nm). First attach manifolds loosely to engine block before securing both manifolds together.
Compatibility
Suitable for engines with side-mounted inlet and exhaust manifolds where both manifolds are secured together to the engine block. Note: not all engines use dished bridge washers - verify your original configuration.
Historical context
The use of dished bridge washers at the split line between inlet and exhaust manifold was a specific WWII-era design feature to compensate for uneven surfaces and ensure optimum sealing.
