OILER DISTRIBUTOR
Oiler for distributor
Spring-loaded lubricating port with cap
Replacement part for the lubricating opening in the distributor housing. The spring-loaded oiler is pressed into the distributor housing and provides lubrication oil to the distributor shaft via a hollow tube. Suitable for 6V and 12V Autolite distributors.
|
Application Autolite distributors L-134 / F-134 |
Mounting Press fit in distributor housing |
|
Voltage 6V and 12V |
Position 2 o'clock position with correctly installed distributor |
Features
- Spring-loaded cap with sliding mechanism
- Hollow tube for oil supply to distributor shaft
- Press fit in distributor housing
- Fitted with felt wick for metered oil supply
- Suitable for lubrication with standard engine oil
★ Essential component for proper lubrication of the distributor shaft. With correct distributor installation, the oiler is located at the 2 o'clock position for easy access with an oil can.
Installation notes
The oiler is pressed into the distributor housing. Ensure that the opening in the hollow tube is correctly oriented so that oil can flow downwards by gravity to the distributor shaft. Fit a new felt wick in the opening before mounting the spring-loaded cap. With correct distributor installation (rotor at 5 o'clock position at TDC #1 cylinder), the oiler is at the 2 o'clock position.
Compatibility
Fits all Autolite distributors for 4-134 engines (L-head and F-head). The distributor shaft is identical on all 4-134 distributors, both for chain-driven (early MB/GPW) and gear-driven (late CJ-2A/CJ-3A/M38/M38A1) engines.
Historical context
Autolite designed the distributor with a clever lubricating opening that uses gravity to channel oil via a hollow tube to the distributor shaft. This design enabled maintenance without dismantling components.
