Suitable for Dodge WC 1/2 ton 4x4 (1941-1942) and early Dodge WC 3/4 ton 4x4 (1942-early 1943) fitted with 8-3/4 inch differential. From mid-1942/1943 onwards, most WC 3/4 ton vehicles received the larger 9-5/8 inch differential — therefore always check which differential type is fitted in your vehicle before ordering.
Installation notes
Remove the propeller shaft and pinion yoke. Check the pinion yoke for grooves or wear — replace or use a seal sleeve if damaged. Lightly coat the new seal with differential oil before fitting. Pay attention to the correct pre-load of the pinion bearing during reassembly.
Compatibility
ONLY for 8-3/4" differential (early type). NOT compatible with the later 9-5/8" differential used from mid-1942/1943 onwards in WC 3/4 ton, WC 6x6, M37 and Civilian Power Wagon. Check the ring diameter of your differential to be certain.
