Output shaft oil seal transfer case 4x4

1-speed transfer case

Oil seal for the output shaft of the 1-speed transfer case in WWII 4x4 vehicles. This seal prevents oil leakage at the propeller shaft flange and keeps dirt and moisture out of the transfer case.

Type

Oil seal with rubber lip

Part no.

CC599463

Origin

French manufacture

Application

1-speed transfer case 4x4

Features

  • Rubber lip seal for reliable sealing
  • Prevents oil leakage at output shaft
  • Keeps dirt and moisture out of transfer case
  • Original design to WWII specifications
  • Replacement part for worn seals

★ Quality seal to original WWII specifications. Essential part for transfer case maintenance and prevention of oil leakage.

Application

Suitable for Dodge WC 1/2 Ton 4x4 (1941-1942) and Dodge WC 3/4 Ton 4x4 (1942-1945) with 1-speed transfer case. Three pieces required per transfer case: one for each output shaft (front and rear) and one reserve position.

Installation notes

Remove the propeller shaft flange from the output shaft. Carefully remove the old seal (use a lip seal puller if necessary). Thoroughly clean the seal housing. Fit the new seal using a suitable drift (piece of tube) over the shaft, ensuring the seal is positioned square and fully seated. Lightly lubricate the lip with gearbox oil before first start.

Compatibility

ONLY for 1-speed transfer case as used in early Dodge WC 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton models (1941-1945). NOT suitable for 2-speed transfer case (used in later WC 6x6, M37, Power Wagon) — which uses CC593596. Note: this is a specific seal for the companion flange position.

Historical context

The Dodge WC series was produced from 1940-1945 and formed the backbone of the Allied light truck fleet in WWII. The early 4x4 models (WC1 to WC63) used a simple 1-speed transfer case, which was later replaced by a 2-speed version for improved off-road performance.
