Fits CJ-2A (1945-1949), CJ-3A (1948-1953) and CJ-3B (1953-1964) models with Ross steering box and 7/8" sector shaft.
Installation notes
Use heavy axle grease to hold the bearing races and ball bearings in place during assembly. The worm gear keeps them fixed afterwards — no retaining ring is needed. Use shims (A-6760) beneath the triangular top cover to set the correct tension on the sector shaft and worm gear: tight enough for no play, but not so tight that it binds.
Compatibility
Only for vehicles with Ross-type steering box and 7/8" sector shaft. Not suitable for later models with other steering box types.
