Shim washer set for correct endplay adjustment of mainshaft

Shim washer set for adjusting the axial play (endplay) of the mainshaft in the T84 gearbox. These shim washers are fitted behind the spacer on the mainshaft to ensure correct positioning of the shaft and blocking rings. Essential for proper synchroniser operation and elimination of excessive play.

Mounting

  1. Install mainshaft with gears and bearings in case Fit suitable shim washer(s) behind snap ring and spacer on rear of mainshaft Secure rear bearing retainer or transfer case adapter Measure axial play with dial gauge or feel play between bearing and shaft Aim for 0.006" - 0.008" (0.15 - 0.20 mm) endplay Adjust shim washer thickness until correct play is achieved
