Valve Tappet NOS

Original Ford-marked part

Original New Old Stock valve tappet for the Willys L-134 'Go Devil' engine. This part is often marked with the letter 'F' and was originally produced for the Ford GPW. The valve tappet is a critical component in the valve actuation of the L-head engine and ensures correct valve timing operation.

Features

  • Original NOS part in new condition
  • Suitable for both inlet and exhaust valves
  • Fitted with adjusting screw
  • Ford GPW marking ("F")
  • Standard dimension for L-134 engine

★ Original part from military stock, never used. These valve tappets were originally produced for WWII production and are still in perfect condition today.

Application

Suitable for all vehicles equipped with the Willys L-134 (Go Devil) flathead side-valve engine. This includes early military jeeps and early post-war civilian models. Please note: 8 valve tappets are required per vehicle (4 inlet, 4 exhaust). Price is per piece.

Installation notes

The valve tappet is positioned between the camshaft and the valve stem. During installation, the valve clearance must be correctly adjusted using the adjusting screw. Recommended valve clearance:.020" (0.508 mm) for timing check, to be reset to correct operating value after adjustment. For adjustment, special valve tappet spanners (#41-W-3575) are recommended.

Compatibility

This part fits engines with L-134 flathead configuration. Please note: this is NOT suitable for the later F-134 Hurricane overhead valve engine. The L-134 engine was used in WWII MB/GPW vehicles and early post-war models. Early vehicles had chain drive for the camshaft, later models gear drive — both use the same valve tappet.

Historical context

The L-134 'Go Devil' engine was the most powerful four-cylinder engine in its class during WWII and became the standard for military jeeps. The valve tappet was a simple yet critical component in the robust L-head (flathead) configuration known for its reliability under extreme conditions.
