The plate is slid beneath the lip on the inside of the tool box or glove box. First mount the plate with one longer screw (without lid) to fix the position, then install the remaining screws with lid. On replica body tubs, the screw holes may need slight enlargement for correct fitting.
Compatibility
This tapped plate is used on Ford GPW models from early production onwards and on Willys MB models from serial number 120.679 onwards. Earlier Willys MB vehicles used nuts with lock washers instead of a tapped plate. The same plate is used for both tool box lids and the glove box lid.
