Spark plug wire set 6/12 volt Dodge

7-piece set for 218/230 engines

Complete spark plug wire set for Dodge lorries with 218 ci (3.6L) or 230 ci (3.8L) six-cylinder flathead engine. This set is suitable for both 6 volt and 12 volt ignition systems and replaces original part number CC1063696.

Engine

218 ci / 230 ci flathead 6-cylinder

Voltage

6 volt and 12 volt

Vehicle

Dodge WC-series and Power Wagon

Set contents

7 wires (6x spark plug + 1x coil-distributor)

Features

  • Complete 7-piece set for 6-cylinder engines
  • Suitable for 6V and 12V ignition systems
  • For 218 ci (3.6L) and 230 ci (3.8L) flathead engines
  • Replaces CC1063696
  • Assembled per order

★ Universal set for multiple voltages — ideal when converting from 6V to 12V or when restoring whilst maintaining original specifications.

Application

Dodge WC 1/2 ton 4x4 (1941-1942), WC 3/4 ton 4x4 (1942-1945), WC 1-1/2 ton 6x6 (1943-1945). Also suitable for civilian Dodge and Fargo lorries (1939-1968) and Power Wagon (1946-1978) fitted with 218 ci or 230 ci flathead engine.

Installation notes

Mind correct polarity when connecting: on negative earth systems, the negative terminal of the coil goes to the distributor, on positive earth (early 6V systems) it's the other way round. Ensure all connections are clean and tight. Check that the high tension lead is properly seated in the coil tower and that the spark plug leads are firmly inserted in the distributor cap.

Compatibility

This set is ONLY for 6-cylinder 218 ci and 230 ci engines. NOT suitable for the later 251 ci engine (1960+). The set works on both 6V and 12V — no separate versions needed. Suitable for both military WC-series (with vacuum advance distributor) and later civilian Power Wagons.

Historical context

The Dodge 218 ci and 230 ci flathead six-cylinders formed the basis of the legendary WC-series during WWII and the early civilian Power Wagons. These robust engines initially ran on 6 volt, later also on 12 volt after conversion or in later models.
