Application

For Dodge WC-56 (without winch), WC-57 (with winch) and WC-58 (radio version) Command Cars, built 1942-1945. The map table was a characteristic feature of these command vehicles, primarily assigned to senior officers (colonel and above). The rear map table could be pulled out and rested on the occupants' laps for consulting large maps.

Installation notes

Mounting kit for installation of the wooden map table normally stowed behind the backrest of the front seat. The table can be pulled out and rests on the laps of rear passengers — no legs are provided. Check that the original rails and guides are in good condition for proper operation.

Compatibility

Specific to Dodge WC-56, WC-57 and WC-58 Command Cars (3/4-ton, 4x4). Not compatible with WC-51/WC-52 Weapons Carriers or other WC variants without command car interior. Note: WC-58 radio versions featured a built-in radio rack instead of the rear map table — verify your vehicle configuration.

Historical context

Dodge Command Cars were equipped with slide-out wooden map tables to enable map reading and mission coordination in the field.
