★ Original specification for WWII Dodge WC-series vehicles. Designed for 3/4 ton 4x4 and 1-1/2 ton 6x6 models without front winch, this hook formed a crucial part of the recovery and towing system.

Application

Fits Dodge WC 3/4 ton 4x4 (1942-1945) and Dodge WC 1-1/2 ton 6x6 (1943-1945) models without factory-fitted winch. Specifically for vehicles WC-51, WC-53, WC-54, WC-56, WC-59, WC-60, WC-61, WC-62 and other non-winch variants. Not suitable for WC-52, WC-57 and WC-63 with Braden MU2 winch.

Installation notes

The hook is mounted to the front chassis/frame with the notch fitting against the bumper. The 5/8" front hole serves for frame attachment, the rear 1/2" hole and drilled recess for the bumper bolt connection. Mind correct positioning of the notch for proper connection with bumper construction.

Compatibility

ONLY for Dodge WC models without winch. Models WITH winch (WC-52, WC-57, WC-63) have a longer frame extension and different hook configuration due to the integrated winch. The winch versions have a 10 inch (25 cm) longer front bumper and different mounting point. Check whether your vehicle has a winch before ordering.

Historical context

The Dodge WC-series formed the backbone of light to medium military transport capacity during WWII. Over 255,000 G-502 series vehicles were built between 1942-1945, with 80% parts interchangeability between the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton models.
