Application
Dodge WC 1/2 Ton 4x4 (1941-1942) rear brakes 14" version, Dodge WC 3/4 Ton 4x4 (1942-1945), Dodge WC 1-1/2 Ton 6x6 (1943-1945). Also applicable to post-war Dodge Power Wagon (1946-1968), M37 and M43 variants (1951-1968).
Installation notes
Ensure the brake system is completely depressurised before dismantling. Check brake shoes for wear before fitting the new wheel cylinder. After installation, fully bleed the brake system to remove air and restore hydraulic pressure. Wheel cylinders should preferably be replaced in pairs for uniform braking performance.
Compatibility
Please note: from T-211 models (1941) onwards, Dodge WC vehicles received 14 inch rear brakes instead of the earlier 11 inch version. This wheel cylinder fits ONLY vehicles with 14" drum brakes. Not compatible with early T-207 models with 11" brakes.
Historical context
The Dodge WC series was mass-produced during WWII and from the T-211 engineering version (1941) onwards received improved 14 inch rear brakes for better braking capacity. These wheel cylinders were standard on all later WC models and remained in use long after the war on civilian Power Wagons and military M37 vehicles.
