Installation sequence (TM 9-1808A):

Check for play through full suspension travel.
Maintenance:

Inspect ball joint and threads every 1,000 miles (1,600 km).

Lubricate ball joint according to TM schedule.

Replace if play is detected or dust boot is damaged.
