Application

Suitable for Willys MB (1941-1945), Ford GPW (1941-1945) and Hotchkiss M201 (post-war French production). Fits both early (slat grille) and later standard MB/GPW models.

Installation notes

The mudguard is secured to the chassis and body with multiple bolts. Note: Willys MB mudguards have one mounting hole at the bottom, Ford GPW have two. Prior to fitting we recommend checking for proper fit and carrying out any necessary bodywork adjustments. Primer and paint required.

Compatibility

This mudguard follows the Willys MB specification. For a 100% correct Ford GPW restoration: note the difference in number of mounting holes at the bottom and the possible presence of a reinforcement plate on the inside near the battery compartment (right-hand side). Both makes otherwise used largely interchangeable mudguards.

Historical context

The Willys MB and Ford GPW were the standard light reconnaissance vehicles of the Allied forces during WW2. Between 1941 and 1945, Willys-Overland produced approximately 348,000 MBs and Ford approximately 278,000 GPWs. After the war, Hotchkiss built the M201 in France under licence from Willys.
