Application
Suitable for Willys MB (1941-1945), Ford GPW (1941-1945) and Hotchkiss M201 (1952-1967). Please note: various bonnet versions existed during production (early/late variants with differences in reinforcement construction). Early slat-grille models had different mounting points for windscreen locks.
Installation notes
Bonnet is supplied with fitted hinge. Check before fitting the fit of wooden blocks (rubber or wood, depending on version) on which the bonnet rests on the windscreen. Ensure correct placement of any accessories such as lubrication chart holder, grease gun bracket and air deflector (early MBs only). Hinge contains 5 segments (tubes) — early Willys MB had 9-tab, later MB and GPW had 11-tab version.
Compatibility
CAUTION: several bonnet types were used during WWII. Willys MB used its own internal bonnet reinforcement construction until early 1944, then changed to Ford-type construction (when using ACM Type 2 body). Ford GPW had its own hinge construction (3-piece welded) and knurling on front edge. Hotchkiss M201 uses standard late-war version. Check your vehicle's original specifications for a historically correct restoration.
Historical context
The WWII jeep bonnet underwent various production evolutions: early Willys Slat Grille models had lower windscreen and modified locks, from MB103545 onwards the standard A-3225 bonnet was introduced. Ford produced under licence from Willys with its own production characteristics in the hinge and reinforcements.
